Please refrain from copy and pasting messages over and over and over, or you will be removed from the forum. We all have input to make so let's keep this at a discussion and not a text block of commercials. Here are some helpful guidelines for good discussion and debate recommended by one of our members:

  • * Stay on topic
  • * Be clear
  • * Build upon your points and address those of other people
  • * Refrain from making assumptions about others' unstated views
  • * If you disagree with somebody, do so politely
  • * Clarify your terms and seek to understand others' (but avoid semantic derails)

  • I have studied and practiced Shamanism for nearly 15 years. Carlos Castenada's novels drew me in. But, once I began using techniques I learned from friends my whole mind opened up. I have been called a witch, devil-worshipper, etc. but I realize our natural instinct is to fear the unknown. The "out of body" experiences you mentioned are real. Journeying is a form of meditation. It can be enlightening, emotional, relaxing...I believe we get what we need from these spiritual journeys. After deep mourning over the loss of my grandmother for over 15 years, I was able to finally release that pain, and for me it was an act of God, I was truly released from a pain so great I couldn't even bear to speak about her, today I can share the stories of all the wonderful things she instilled in me, including the Medicine Bag she made and gave to me when I was 4. Nature is the greatest medicine of all, and I encourage everyone to at least try looking at Shamanism with an open heart and mind. Peace.
