It is "competition that is at the heart of this worlds problems"; If you need too beat someone out of something in order to perform at a high level then your spirit is flawed. There is a Scripture : Do whatsoever you do with all your strength and might, as unto the Lord.

      Since you quote the Bible, let me say that the Lord made us all competititve to various degrees. Like intelligence and physical strength, not everyone is equal and not every has an overwhelming desire to compete. But to compete is part of the human spirit, and if you are totally missing it, then perhaps you are flawed.
      Mind you, competition does not preclude cooperation - humans can exhibit many types of behavior, not limited to one mold fits all.

      Even in the caveman days, the women would compete to attract the most worthy and reliable mate to make her children. Just one example. The theory of evolution also has the survival of the fittest compenent, which is competition to the extreme. And of course humans enjoyed sports since the beginning of recorded history.
