Every citizen has an Equal Right to go about their business, and be on public property; without being confronted by:[police, especially riot police] "absent probable cause" : sleeping and eating are required human functions that no serious person can claim are violations of law. The first battle Occupy must win is this; If there are two opposing groups in one area; then it is legitimate for police to provide a "buffer zone" between them, In the case of Occupy, there is no counter group; and therfore no need for the police presence to start with; {especially the riot police overkill}: Occupy needs a "buffer zone" between them and the police: If the police would stop creating the problem; there wouldn't be one. Stand for all your Rights; starting with the 4th; and 7th which prevent the "initial contact" in the first place. Again; not only do people have a Right to be in public; they have a Right to assemble without government calling out the riot police, and creating the very conflict they claim they are trying to avoid!

If you can't defend yourself legally : everthing else is a moot point!

Occupying 24/7 is giving "Ma and Pa America" the impression that these gathering are a congregation of people neglecting they daily responsibilities. Instead of showing a life balance, working hard employment wise and also prioritizing time for civic matters, they are "dropping out". The 'Buffer Zone" would be more respected with a greater understand of the Occupation's intent .

People don't need to be understood for their rights to be respected! Occupy is not one person; and those who make blanket insinuations about a diverse group of people are the problem; not the solution!

It's a start... but sorta the whole point as well... in that, if we were in the state of affairs (ie America not being a police state), where you COULD do that, then there would be no need to protest in the first place....however, I agree, in that it's a start.
