    Occupy Together

Should the towering walls on Wall Street finally crumble to the ground

As the nation’s cities echo as our united voices sound

Should the bastard bastions of corporate greed collapse as they take our flack

May we Occupy together and we’ll take our country back

Have inflated medication costs put you sleeping on the street?

Have the student loans turned off your phone and the ends refuse to meet?

Have too many friends gone to fight and die for the oil companies’ greed?

Then we’ll Occupy together, friends, in solidarity

Well I know some folks in (your city), who’ve built a community

And they work and struggle every day for justice and harmony

And no they will not go away they will just expand their pack

And we’ll Occupy together and we’ll take our country back

How much longer will the people wait for democracy at home?

As the toxic gasses fill our air like toxic money trumps our votes

Well don’t let the propaganda machine set us at each other’s throats

Let us Occupy together and reclaim our nation’s hopes

To mark the 82nd anniversary of the stock market crash on Wall Street, and to honor the brave protesters occupying cities around this country and beyond, we are proud to
release the song 'The 99' as a free download: http://vagabondage1.bandcamp.com/track/the-99

    It's also here:

    'The 99'
    Remember the great economic decline
    Of 10/24/1929
That crash on Black Thursday is echoed in time
    Different day, same old crime
    Different day, same old crime

High in their towers they look down on me
    But I am a neo-revolutionary
We are the broken American Dream
But to them, we're the end to a means
But to them, we're the end to a means

So lay down your burdens and turn to the sky
Grit your teeth, open your eyes
Behold a new era and let out a cry
    We are the 99

They ride four green horses made of your dollar bills
From Lower Manhattan to Beverly Hills
Their greedy filth-fingers will squeeze us until
    Their corporate consumption kills
    Their corporate consumption kills

So lay down your burdens and turn to the sky
Grit your teeth, open your eyes
Behold a new era and let out a cry
    We are the 99

A new recording of the fist-shaking 60's protest / garage rock anthem "SHAPE OF THINGS TO COME": http://tinyurl.com/7p93vvm

The lyrics are just too relevant:

"There's a new sun rising up angry in the sky.
There's a new voice crying but not afraid to die.
Let the old world make believe it's blind and deaf and dumb
BUT NOTHING CAN CHANGE THE SHAPE OF THINGS TO COME.

There are changes lying ahead on every road.
There are new thoughts ready and waiting to explode.
When tomorrow is today, the bells will toll for some.
BUT NOTHING CAN CHANGE THE SHAPE OF THINGS TO COME.

The future's coming on sweet and strong,
And no-one's gonna hold it back for long...

There are new dreams crowding out old realities.
There's revolution sweeping in like a fresh new breeze.
Let the old world make believe it's blind and deaf and dumb,
BUT NOTHING CAN CHANGE THE SHAPE OF THINGS TO COME. "

(BTW, the whole album is pretty decent, if you are into that vintage 60s garage rock thing. It's a free download http://tinyurl.com/7od26by)

I wrote this song months ago, through my frustration and outrage over the Marcellus Shale drilling in my home-state and the corporate control that made my elected politicians irrelevant. When I participated and was arrested on the last day of the Tar Sands Action, I was inspired to create a youtube video with it. And now, almost 4 months later, I feel my song and video has only become more relevant. Please enjoy and feel free to share!
