The main message that needs to go out to MSM is that: The movement is in its infantcy,,but basicaly its people from all walks of life (the 99%) that have finaly had enough and are just standing up at this point and saying "PHOOEY" ,,"PHOOEY with the wall sreet greed that has us economacaly depressed and our political system hijacked",,it will take a while but goals will be set and we the 99% are going all the way.....

A lovely article, it's sad that many Conservatives are so judgmental. I do not have a party or want one, it just saddens me that without seeing it for themselves they throw out outdated titles. That is what the left does also. Go Huffington Post! And Occupy the World!

Myth #6. They Don't Know What They Want.

This may not be true, but it is the one Myth that is being handled very poorly.
Occupy appears to have no ability to speak as one on anything. If a Mission Statement or talking points exist, someone need to get them out there. Just saying"we don't like corp greed" accomplishes very little.

I partially agree with you gott5. The tactic of refusing to adopt a strict mission statement has been pivotal in 'building the base.' By becoming radically inclusive it allows a freer flow of ideas and most importantly encourages consensus building. I think the paradox lies in the fact that: without an official message it just construes the effectiveness of the movement all together. I think affinity groups and spokescouncils can culminate specific objectives and mission statements on certain issues. The overall message of the movement, in my mind, is to revitalize democracy and amplify the voice of the people.

What an awesome article. Thank you Keith Boykin for taking the time to investigate and thanks to @gavemehope for the find.
@MundusVultDecipi: I am in full agreement with your overall message of the movement being; 'to revitalize democracy and amplify the voice of the people'.
