Permaculture at the occupation sites

Who will be the first to establish and maintain a permaculture garden at an Occupation site? Gardening takes time, but so does democracy. In the meantime, how about establishing composting toilets and compost systems at occupation sites? How about setting up rain water reclamation systems at occupation sites. If this movement succeeds, the new infrastructure will still serve. If the movement fails, the poor can die off a little more slowly with just a little more comfort from the modest new infrastructure.

Americans cannot be saved by anyone or anything except for by themselves. The US is the least sustainable nation on Earth. While I am all for equality, and support Occupy Wall Street, the underlying motivation is the important thing. Americans need to start being more self sufficient. For example: http://www.occupy-wallstreet.com/permaculture/ If somehow OWS would "win" and all the money being sucked up by Wall Street was redistributed, the planet would lose if Americans would keep spending the money and cheap, hazardous imported products, on GMO food, on huge cars, etc. The best thing that can come out of OWS is the notion of reclaiming responsibility for our lives. The problem IS the solution http://www.occupy-wallstreet.com/permaculture/the-problem-is-the-solution/

Testify Danimal! The solutions are lying right there. It's crazy to me that we haven't adopted these sustainable methods yet. The day we can break consumer 'false consciousness' is the day we are free.

Excellent! It did happen. I caught a little bit about the permaculture effort being a source of fear for the 1%. Such a shame.

What the movement needs is leadership. What we don't need: money leading the charge. Corporate incest with government officials dates back to the "anti-trust" laws that were written by corporate juggernauts of the time, if you don't believe me look up the predecessor to the New Deal, dubbed The Swope plan named for the then C.E.O. of General Electric. It is time to divorce ourselves from the contemporary view that the left is with us on this. They like common people to maintain the stupid image, and right now it is more than likely a big laughing stock at big money parties that both the Tea Party AND Occupy Wall St. are being "Led" in a sense by big money as a pet project on the side (George Soros OWS and the Koch brothers with TTP.) We the youth in this movement need to clean up our act, and realize that TTP is essentially the same thing as us, so that we might UNITE and ACHIEVE.
