Terms Being Thrown About
  • piss_off_gov November 2011 +1 -1
Reading a recent YAHOO report, the media is now referring to police interference as "raids." Although the term is politically correct, it's becoming obvious that more and more people are flabbergasted by the actions made by our government forces. Also, the term "raids" has such a negative connotation that I have to wonder what's going on within the media that is encouraging them to use such a strong word. I understand that they (they being the government officials who use their brute force whenever possible) feel the need to try and moderate what's going on, but there has to be a limit. Right?

I think it has an emotionally loaded value. It seems like an upgrade from the 'clashes' they kept using which could mean we had a sword fight! (@ least in my mind) But emotion is good. We want our news hubs to stay human.

I like that I am finally seeing positive change in the world. I never imagined it could be this easy. The iron fist was a cloud of mist!

I understand completely what you mean, however, I'm confused that the news -a fairly government controlled program- is using the term raids (which in my mind reminds me of swashbuckling pirates) to describe the police's actions. Whatever the case may be, you are correct in that this change is for the better. I look forward to a new tomorrow.

Here is a report... that would interest all my American friends, a way that republicans should talk to those in occupy, to numb their minds, and silence their freedom of thought.
