Hi. I don't have anything new at the moment. I also don't like facebook. MySpace used to be alright, till Murdock bought it and hosed the blogs. TBD only lasted a couple of years then

    ~**poof**~

But . . . since you've brought into discussion a U.S. service member, and since Veteran's Day is just around the corner . . .

and this is the spot for 'art' -

Why is this guilt for those they've sadly left behind
so insistent, unto the heart a slice unkind -
each cruel loss a dagger to the soul, chills like ice.
Grief lingers oft and weighs in waves upon the mind.

    A single voice calls to us from the bitter line;
whose woeful, bloodstained dirges bid us 'count this cost'.
This is the gift of those they've sadly left behind.

    Not for naught when these scything tears do us remind;
for some in power war is endless, is a vice -
it lingers oft and weighs in waves upon the mind.

For us in silence proud eyes weep, to them unkind -
it is our cost, our heroes' tears for souls now lost.
Such is our grief for those they've sadly left behind.

    For our communal good our heroes' tears are kind;
whose sad pall remains long past ruins swept away -
though they linger oft and weigh in waves upon the mind.

If we have counted, found unjust, then to our hearts will bind
throughout the long march of endless, grief filled days:
    this is our guilt for those they've sadly left behind;
it lingers oft and weighs in waves upon the mind.

Here's another, one that isn't new, but I don't think you'll find it on my website. And as it happens, Sunday's march led to the statue that inspired the following:

A "Thing" is not a "Thing,"
    but saying makes it so.

    Y
    DE M OC RA C

There is a statue through the window,
    just across the street,
    blocks of granite.
    Blocks of granite
    shaped as puzzle pieces;
    jigsaw puzzle pieces,
    here on Main Street.

    Is Democracy such a puzzle?
    Only greedy, fearful men
    would make it so.
This is just a symbol -
    the germ of an idea;
    infectious, nagging, subtle.

    It will not be easy
    to subvert a living symbol
    made of solid stone;
    enshrined in solid granite,
    quarried from my home.

I should round up a pic of the statue.

    Democracy

In the spirit of the Democratic revolution,

no man, no idea, no ambition can stand up
    ...
    against its declaration of perseverance.

A true doctrine of genius. Words written

fully dedicated to the liberation and the

rights of the individual; deterring fanaticism,

    economic injustices, and religious persecution:

Democracy offers the same opportunities, the

same hopes for self-gratification to each one

of us. When you read the words of its Author’s

you can feel their desires, their dreams, their

compassion we should embrace them always.

Pledge our allegiance to them. For it is truly

a masterpiece of divine intervention that they

have left us. Like Fidelio, the doctrine is a

living memorial. In principle, strong enough

to stand up against any of mans inefficiencies.

If nurtured, the laws of Democracy can attain

any goal. In its design, it gives anyone of us the

means to correct any injustice that might occur.

Its Laws may be the only work of political context

written honestly with the intention to better our

way of life without the pique of military control.

Democracy will prevail due to the fact that its

Authors put the trust of its existence, into the

hands of the citizens, protecting them with an

unrestricted means of communication. One of

the most inspirational aspects of the Democracy

our Forefathers had the foresight to stipulation

is that it provides for the citizens of the state to

always have the power to make the final decision.

That when the vitality of our rights are trended

on by foreign or domestic predators for whatever

reason, the people have the right to oppose any

such aggression by any means available to them.

This is the written assurance which guarantees us

our Freedom. It is imperative that no individual be

able to abuse these rights without leaving a record

of their actions. The law provides us with the right

to know who's who and the right to change our

representatives at any time. Thus our right to

vote is our most sacred of rights. Democracy is

what we are fighting for, the principle behind freedom

why people give their lives to protect us.

    Democracy

    Agrees: Durandus

In honor of Veteran's Day, here is a poem from a decorated military officer who served in France During World War I:

    Mental Cases

Who are these? Why sit they here in twilight?
    Wherefore rock they, purgatorial shadows,
Drooping tongues from jaws that slob their relish,
Baring teeth that leer like skulls' teeth wicked?
Stroke on stroke of pain, - but what slow panic,
Gouged these chasms round their fretted sockets?
Ever from their hair and through their hands' palms
Misery swelters. Surely we have perished
Sleeping, and walk hell; but who these hellish?

    - These are men whose minds the Dead have ravished.
Memory fingers in their hair of murders,
    Multitudinous murders they once witnessed.
Wading sloughs of flesh these helpless wander,
Treading blood from lungs that had loved laughter.
Always they must see these things and hear them,
Batter of guns and shatter of flying muscles,
    Carnage incomparable, and human squander
Rucked too thick for these men's extrication.

Therefore still their eyeballs shrink tormented
Back into their brains, because on their sense
    Sunlight seems a blood-smear; night comes blood-black;
Dawn breaks open like a wound that bleeds afresh.
    - Thus their heads wear this hilarious, hideous,
    Awful falseness of set-smiling corpses.
    - Thus their hands are plucking at each other;
    Picking at the rope-knouts of their scourging;
Snatching after us who smote them, brother,
Pawing us who dealt them war and madness.

    Wilfred Owen

an interesting note: Mental Cases was orignially titled The Aliens . . .

Wilfred Owen had been evaced from the war zone and later returned, only to die in fighting at the Sambre Canal near Ors in France. Current online references list the date of his death as November 4, 1918 - but I have read that the fighting was so intense at that location November 2 - 4 that no one is really sure what day he actually passed.

Wilfred Owen - decorated military officer, preeminent anti-war poet.

    ALL ABOUT BIG RATS

Big Rats are the rats who think they need to have all the cheese. and there are many similarities between all Big Rats regardless of how they became one, each one finding his addiction to the cheese overwhelming, each one finding its appeal for different reasons, each Big Rat eventually becomes willing to give up anything to please their appetite, looking to find anyway feasible to add more cheese to their stash whether it is needed or not...

Big Rats usually dwell apart from each other, surrounding themselves with other rats that will be obedient to their needs. They are usually very opinionated, with very selfish intentions, so when you have a few Big Rats living together it is usually a very intense situation, and a lot of the time they will become violent looking for ways to scratch at each other’s stock pile of that ever alluring cheese.

Big Rats become Big Rats several ways. Some are born into Big Rat families, by watching and interacting with their parents they accept the Big Rat philosophy hence their greedy tendencies have come natural by association.
Other Big Rats become Big Rats accidently, by recognizing an opportunity they find ways to alter their situation, either by stealing, lying, running errands for others, or sometimes by just taking advantage of a situation and capitalize on it. Always looking to build a big enough stash so they can begin the process of using other rats to do their bidding for them, by offering them tad bits of what they have accumulated.
At the same time many Big Rats are self made either by their addictive need or through a competitive mind set they find away to manipulate the system and through self perseverance reach that ever looming Big Rat status. By association and or by hoodwinking other rats into believing in them beyond their actually capabilities they begin to develop social and political status based on how much cheese they have accumulate this is what basically determines how much influence they can attain.

The Big Rat breed is coronus and to be feared as they have found a way to produce cheese out of their own rat shit, paint it and distribute it without consequences paying off those who would stand in their way, (with the real stuff).

Understand not all rats who want to become Big Rats actually make Big Rat status [the dilemma of conscience decision making getting in their way, something to be discuss at another time.]

Big Rats mostly live lustrously lives, though not always. Most share common important traits such as the need to store their cheese compulsively. Using their cheese to be able to satisfy their need to be in control, to dominate other rats who look to be around them, ultimately most Big Rats will try to attain recognition craving certain kinds of attention, it should be noted that they are also often paranoid.

Very few Big Rats do the actual work in the cheese dialectic, they don’t have to simply put it is the system they attire to and with their influence have made it the accepted manor by wish all rats grade their own individual status by. This often leaves them un-aware of what is actually happening in the world around them the reason why most of us despise them.

Once a Big Rat reaches a certain status of wealth through certain laws the Big Rats begin to attain more cheese by just utilizing the cheese they have, there are no restrictions and latitude is based simply on how much cheese you have and how much more you want. The race to the cheese becomes the most important thing for most of them often causing a certain about of disruption in their daily lives creating tension between anyone around them. Big Rats are able to influence other rats by offering them a little portion of the new cheese they acquired and through bribery, bonus, and payment for different duties performed by doing things in this way they are attempting to be able to achieve an overwhelming control of the functionability of the world we live in.

Lets just say that if you ever meet one you’d know it, I mean Big Rats always give themselves away, as they seem to always have the need to be recognized and are not bashful about letting people know what it is they think is right. If you listen to a Big Rat for any length of time they’ll tell you what they think is best for you what you need to do even what you should want to see happen around you, the catch is that you will find anything they suggest is usually in their best interest not yours.

I have met a few Big Rats over the years and my personal opinion is who needs them, I believe our world would have plenty of cheese for every one if they weren’t around or had to give up a certain amount of their surplus to take care of the unfortunate who for one reason or another don’t have enough cheese to support themselves or their families.

    Anyway enough about Big Rats.

Have I told you about Sam the Possums well Sam lives on a small island just outside the boundaries of our world in a place called the waste-land and is well known for the flag he keeps on top of one of the Evergreen trees that sits behind his fenced yard ……

Time’s Opera Written in 19 Parts

    Chorus of the Clan

Our march against King’s empire wallet
Lord our conviction for you remains solid.

This is the time we make our stand
Words sung by a warrior’s band.

Wizard’s sign placed against the sky
Here on street of gold love’s child cries.

Reminding us of those who have lost their sons
In the name of war threats made never won.

There can be no understanding of peace
Until man finds a way to destroy the Beast.

Our march against King’s empire wallet
Lord our conviction for you remains solid.

    Outsider’s Shadow

Shadow walk beyond this world’s reality
Voices outside now touch on my insanity.

Raven give me your word this night
You will free me from notation’s flight.

Though I cannot vow to your means
Know I have viewed what you have seen.

Have learned to understand Nature’s plan
How Tortugas migration fertilizes our land.

Wizard caste out of dawn tell no more lies
Raven show me how King’s Magician must die.

Shadow walk beyond this world’s reality
Voices outside now touch on my insanity.

    Woman of the Field

I can hear his voice lying awake
He has given us a future to make.

Our Lord’s Bow from long ago
Children listen to what I was told.

Outsider’s walk up vine stage step
Will bring the Clan to Autumn’s leaf.

Holding what it was that was found
He will keep witch’s words bound.

My love for him it will never bend
Until we win or Time brings an end.

I can hear his voice lying awake
He has given us a future to make.

    Witch of Dew

    The meaning behind Nature’s creation
Exists outside man’s world of civilization.

Our battles throughout the years bringing us
Closer than our differences have separated us.

Sleep Outsider knowing the stitch I place
Inside king’s crow plate summons’s her case.

Knowing time will take our magic away
So Lady of the Field may have her day.

Man’s revolution must take place I feel
In your heart before your mind can heal.

    The meaning behind Nature’s creation
Exists outside man’s world of civilization.

    Chorus of the Clan

Our march against King’s empire wallet
Lord our conviction for you remains solid.

This is the time we make our stand
Words sung by a warrior’s band.

Wizard’s sign placed against the sky
Here on street of gold love’s child cries.

Reminding us of those who have lost their sons
In the name of war threats made never won.

There can be no understanding of peace
Until man finds a way to destroy the Beast.

Our march against King’s empire wallet
Lord our conviction for you remains solid.

    Wicked King

Magician pact your armies now pledged
I will wait here till Witch’s eye lies dead.

Before his Clan try’s to take courts butterfly
Outsider and his Warriors will beg to die.

Magician stir their dreams into another day
Or I will burn your soul and send you away.

Now send your bones across bay of earth
Her womanhood promised to me by birth.

Now fly winged demons of the night
And do not return till morning light.

Magician pact your armies now pledged
I will wait here till Witch’s eye lies dead.

    Witch of Dew

Rider’s of the wheel rise to comet’s star
Our sky is filled with Skeletons of Scar.

    Wicked thoughts attacking images drawn
Bones sent to change the course of dawn.

    Magician’s wand versus Chorus Clan
Seeks Outsider from where he stands.

Lady of the Field lying here with child
As King moves on sun grain wind dial.

No longer can we lie in waiting to see
What his Lord will make of their deed.

Rider’s of the wheel rise to comet’s star
Our sky is filled with Skeletons of Scar.

    Outsider’s Shadow

Words written in past seasons lived
Falcon take this note I must send.

To Lady of the Field who I wish to wait
Hoping my love for her is not too late.

All the wars throughout our lives
Maiden’s kisses lost in pride’s crime.

To share with her what I have found
Love’s song heard in victories sound.

No place left my Lady for us to go
Our love for Pen cannot be sold.

Words written in past seasons lived
Falcon take this note I must send.

    Lady of the Field

Child of the woods a change taking place
Hear my words of fate before it’s too late.

Ocean shore moving under moon’s light
    Dark clouds changing tomorrow’s tide.

    Magician casting his black incantations
    Against Outsider’s shadow a revelation.

If wicked King prevails then appears
Before Chorus of Clan finds me here.

Two souls locked in destinies shell
His Warriors plans I will never tell.

Child of the woods a change taking place
Hear my words of fate before it’s too late.

    Wicked King

And she will follow me until cradle fails
Or White Witch reverses my Bone’s spell.

Cast naked across time’s silk pond
Our paths interlocked by evils bond.

I will leave my diseases in his name
There will be no way out for his blame.

    Spread across history for free
Hidden in the honey of her bee.

An end to her lover’s letter she will know
In caldron mix his Warriors death I sow.

And she will follow me until cradle fails
Or White Witch reverses my Bone’s spell.

    Outsider’s Shadow

We march against what we know was made
Sin against our Ladies love her Lord’s way.

Witch of Dew call on the sisters of attic
Change their course onto King’s magic.

Chorus of the Clan waits for their grated sign
To find wicked King’s Magician make him blind.

With my sword of bird Feather steel
Upon Wicked King his name I will kill.

Witch of Dew there is no time to waste
The witching hour it is becoming late.

We march against what we know was made
Sin against our Ladies love her Lord’s way.

    Chorus of the Clan

Our march against King’s empire wallet
Lord our conviction for you remains solid.

This is the time we make our stand
Words sung by a warrior’s band.

Wizard’s sign placed against the sky

There can be no understanding of peace
Until man finds a way to destroy the Beast.

Our march against King’s empire wallet
Lord our conviction for you remains solid.

    Witch of Dew

Mixed leaves of soil pinch of poppy seed
Drop of olive branch from a Dragon tree.

    Make young Outsider’s Shadow free
    To travel across Armageddon’s Sea.

To where the wake of the wicked King lies
Take Hawk’s desert force and Lion’s tide.

His Shadow will change the course of time
Or his lover from the field will certainly die.

Now come my hat Hags of the brewing night
Let us mix a spell to change the color of light.

Mixed leaves of soil pinch of poppy seed
Drop of olive branch from a Dragon tree.

    Lady of the Field

Scar of visions left here by elders to learn
A feeling inside my mind has begun to burn.

Children of Lighting caste over the land
Come to where the Clan makes their stand.

A dark gift beyond any to compare
Wicked King my soul he has dared.

And I would give him knowing what he asks
If it would allow what’s good in time to last.

Warriors I plea rise up against his evil will
Place the sword of our Lord against his steel.

Scar of visions left here by elders to learn
A feeling inside my mind has begun to burn.

    Wicked King

World beyond our reach its love I too can see
In this way we defeat their storytellers of deed.

Now their love’s will each learn of our vice
My magic this day will turn them into mice.

No character out of time will come to help her
She will be mine and is starting to feel my burn.

Magician call on the Cats of your mother’s barn
So I can place Outsider there to hang in the yard.

Mark my verse I tell you she will wear this dress
Live here with me under my Castle’s golden nest.

World beyond our reach its love I too can see
In this way we defeat their storytellers of deed.

    Outsider’s Shadow

I can hear her voice lying awake
She has given me a future to make.

My Lady take the children of the land
Their story to be protected by the band.

Hold them above Wizards sea wav
Wait there until the end of this day.

I will take this bower moment in time
Revise an end to wicked King’s crime.

Lady of the Field my love will never bend
Until Elf’s win or illness brings us to an end.

I can hear her voice lying awake
She has given me a future to make.

    Lady of the Field

Dream walk beyond his world’s reality
Voices outside touching on my insanity.

I will watch for Wizards sign
    Falcon word holding our bind.

Though I know my love what I have seen
It is truth that will determine what it means.

My love for you it will never bend
Until we win or illness brings us an end.

Look for an explanation to Witch’s dew
For a different ending something new.

Dream walk beyond his world’s reality
Voices outside touching on my insanity.

    Witch of Dew

In time everything remains the same here
Unless something new from Thread appears.

Love of Outsider and Lady of the Field
Blossoming into more than most can feel.

Sense wicked King and Magician arrived
Children of dew must learn how to survive.

King’s reasoning no less or no more than
What was first given now curses the land.

I Witch of Dew now share a secret with you
That what has happen did take place is true.

In time everything remains the same here
Unless something new from Thread appears.

    Chorus of the Clan

Our march against King’s empire wallet
Lord our conviction for you remains solid.

This is the time we make our stand

I wrote this song months ago, through my frustration and outrage over the Marcellus Shale drilling in my home-state and the corporate control that made my elected politicians irrelevant. When I participated and was arrested on the last day of the Tar Sands Action, I was inspired to create a youtube video with it. And now, almost 4 months later, I feel my song and video has only become more relevant. Please enjoy and feel free to share!
