Exxon Mobil Profit Soars 41% on Higher Prices, Refining http://occupytogether.com/forum/discussion/2368/exxon-mobil-profit-soars-41-on-higher-prices-refining Tue, 17 Apr 2012 14:23:57 -0600 MysticBard 2368@/forum/discussions http://online.wsj.com/article/SB10001424052970203554104577001523057007892.html

With all the tremolo around the world, a National Debt that looks like a clock taking us to the
end of time, with all the people starving people with children not having health insurance with
the number of people living without housing or work. How can a company like this make this
kind of return on their investment How can they not show compassion or chick duty and donate
some of their wealth even if they are not required to under our present tax laws?????????????????

Large American and or Foreign Corporations doing business in the United States who are profiting like
Exxon, Apple, Sony, Goldman Sachs and OTHERS like large transportation business should be Adopting
Bridges, Nuclear Power Plants, Schools, etc using some of their exuberant profits they are earning
from either their customers and or our taxes to revamp the failing infrastructure we have inherited.

Creating new jobs good will is a important part of doing business and even though companies like
Boeing who never pay any taxes and who in many cases receive large amounts of money
from our Government [our taxes dollars] don’t have to Adopt a project THEY SHOULD WANT TO.

In principle it is a fundamental responsibility of these companies to contribute back to the communities
where they operate and to the country that allows them to do business within a free enterprise system.

Monetary system and Today's crisis.. http://occupytogether.com/forum/discussion/2170/monetary-system-and-todays-crisis.. Thu, 19 Jan 2012 12:00:49 -0700 TedIV 2170@/forum/discussions Corporate Accountability http://occupytogether.com/forum/discussion/1337/corporate-accountability- Thu, 10 Nov 2011 18:00:44 -0700 MysticBard 1337@/forum/discussions to that same government and the people of that government who have given them these rights.

That when an individual or corporation whether... it be in manufacturing, distribution or in the financial aspect of business starts to look at its profits or the value of its stocks before the safety and welfare of its employees, the community in which it operates in, or how its business effects our environment that
when the miss use of said privileges occur then the government and if not the government due to corruption, or lack of responsibility then the people have a civic duty to hold said parties accountable.

It just seems to me that it is the fundamental reasonability for those who are considered leaders whether in politics, through economic success, or even religious position to look at taking care of those who they are responsible to and the environment they live in first before anything else. That it is in fact why they have been given the opportunity to be leaders is to fulfill their responsibility... And if wealth and fame come to them by doing so then it is what was meant to be.

I mean to operate any enterprise with the sole purpose of economic gain without considering all civic responsibilities well that in it self under a free enterprise system is a miss use of its privileges and it seems there should be consequences accordingly.

According to the FSTV discussion, Monsanto has a very significant presence in both North America and South America. They have further taken their GMF to East India and Asia. In East India, there have been as many as three suicides a day by farmers who have been forced to pay as much as four times the previous price for cotton seed and forced to borrow money, which they often cannot repay. This is what has led to the suicides. There are riots taking place even as we speak and Indian farmers swearing to buy no more Monsanto products. I wonder as to the alternatives available to them.

Save your seeds!! Any seeds we can preserve which have not been modified by Monsanto will help to pave the way toward freedom from this company which has been closely wedded to the FDA. As I write, Monsanto is spreading its power over the whole world. We must take back our food supply immediately. Please help me in the Occupy movement to bring this to the attention of the 99% who would have a competitive world. The map tells me that Michigan has a Monstanto presence and may well pervade the farms in and around me.]]>

What if instead of rewarding the 1% investors companies took pride in how many employees they employed, and the quality of life they created for the 99%? The occupy movement has created a conversation but action is needed. We need the top executives and board members of all fortune 500 companies along with politicians to agree to change the way business is done in America.]]>
